The Edinburgh School of Beauty was founded in 2014 by Louise Caithness. Read more about how it all began below….
Louise is an extremely accomplished Beauty Therapist and influential figure within the beauty industry in Scotland. She has achieved international accreditation with many leading training providers and has successfully provided an extremely high standard of treatment delivery in a wide range of therapies. Most recently she has established herself as a highly reputed Advanced Skin Therapist utilising advanced electrolysis techniques to treat many medical skin concerns. In addition, Louise has established and developed one of the UK’s only chain of dedicated Skin Spas providing a variety of professional treatments, delivered by a team of highly skilled individuals. With a proven track record in providing excellent treatments and customer service, Louise further excels in developing, maintaining and nurturing new talent within the industry and has a strong interest in industry regulation and training.
Zest Health and Beauty Ltd was founded by Louise in 2005. Having already established Liberton Drive as a beauty salon for another company in 2003, Louise took this over in February 2005 as her own business and opened Haddington Place shortly after in March of that year.
The business has seen many changes over the years, the biggest in 2012 when the bold decision was made to rebrand our trading name and redesign our treatment offering. Zest Skin Spa, as we are now known, has become well established in Edinburgh for providing effective skin and beauty treatments. 2014 saw the addition of our Haymarket Terrace premises and the business continues to thrive under the management of Louise and her passionate team of Therapists.
In 2014, the business expanded to incorporate a training school, The Edinburgh School of Beauty. The School operates within our Haymarket Terrace salon. In 2017, the salon was refurbished to include a purpose-built training facility. We are a VTCT accredited training provider delivering all aspects of Beauty Therapy training.
In 2016, The Company gained Investors in People silver award and Investors in Young People accreditation, demonstrating the value the Company places on its’ employees. During this year Louise also earned the accolade of Women of Inspiration awarded by the Association of Scottish Businesswomen and now she uses her skills and experience to support other business owners through coaching and mentoring programmes.
